The entrire procedure can be completed in 30 minutes without phenol/chloroform extraction or alcohol precipitation, with DNA yeild up to 50ug. Purified DNA is suitable for direct use in PCR or other enzymatic reactions. Furthermore, the purified DNA performs well in sensitive downstream analyses, such as quantitative PCR.

The quality of HiYield Genomic DNA mini Kit (Bacteria) is tested on a lot-to-lot basis by isolation of genomic DNA from 1 x 109 E.coli culture harvested by centrifugation at 16,000 x g for 1 minute. 5 ul from a 100 ul eluate of pufiried DNA is analyzed by electrophoresis on a 1% agarose gel. The purified DNa is quantified with a spectrophotometer and the yield of genomic DNA is more than 30 ug with A260/A280 ratio 1.9-2.0.
